Types of orchard machinery

     Orchard machinery types are generally divided into two categories: power machinery and operating machinery.The power machinery used in orchards is mainly various tractors and internal combustion engines supporting the operating machinery.There are two types of dedicated orchard tractors: one type has a short body shape, a low center of gravity, and a small turning radius, which is suitable for inter-row operations of fruit trees; the other type has a ground clearance of more than 1 meter, which is suitable for inter-row operations across fruit trees.There are mainly the following types of orchard operating machinery.

     Orchard tillage machinery In addition to the soil tillage machinery used for general farmland tillage can be used for orchard tillage, there are also orchard-specific tillage machinery with special structures or additional devices. The working parts are as close as possible to the trunks of fruit trees for operation, or can be used for inter-row and inter-plant operations at the same time.For example, an orchard plow is attached to the tail of a general plow, with a set of movable plow bodies, and a contact rod at the front end.When the tractor pulls the orchard plow forward between rows, and the contact rod is in contact with the trunk, the attached plow body can be raised by means of connecting rods, automatic clutch and other devices, thereby bypassing the trunk, and the main part of the orchard plow plowing between rows is not affected in any way.Another kind of orchard bias plow is that the plow body is installed behind the bias traction device, so that the plow body is close to the fruit tree plowing, reducing the width of the uncultivated land on both sides of the trunk.Orchard biased disc rakes are asymmetric double-row configuration rakes. The centerline of the rake deviates from the traction line or suspension point of the tractor, so the rake can be close to the trunk and the tractor is far away from the trunk during operation to avoid damage to fruit trees. It is mostly used for loosening and weeding between orchard rows (see rake).There are movable frames for installing hoes and shovels on both sides of the orchard cultivator. When the touch rod in front of the cultivator touches the trunk, the movable frame can be rotated in a horizontal plane, so that the hoe and shovel bypass the trunk; when the touch rod leaves the trunk, the movable frame rotates in reverse, and the hoe and shovel return to their original position to continue inter-plant operations.
